Choosing a Wedding Venue

It’s not always easy to know where to begin when planning a wedding. You’ve said “yes”, but what comes next?

The first step is to do your research and find an underlying style you like. One of the most popular styles appearing at the moment is large relaxed parties, rather than the formal affairs of days gone by. Find a style that suits you as a couple, whether that be a relaxed cocktail party under the stars or an opulent affair in a grand ballroom. The next step is to gain an idea of your approximate guest numbers as this will immediately help refine your venue search.

Finding the right venue will depend on a combination of factors including location, venue size, layout and of course your preferred style of wedding catering. Food is such an integral part of an incredible wedding and is often one of the major take away memories for your guests. Why not ensure your guests are thoroughly delighted by including themed food stations, a shared menu or a lavish dessert buffet.

Once you have put a short list of venues together, it is best to visit each and meet with the dedicated Event Planner to discuss in detail your vision for your big day. It is important to not only make sure you love the venue, but also that you feel comfortable with the Event Planner as he or she will soon become your “go to” person.
